Assalamualaikum and Salam 1Malaysia..
Apple has something to reveal this coming 7th March, and it certainly looks like they're about to show off a brand new iPad! Now, while no one but Apple knows for sure whether it's an iPad 3 or an iPad 2S, but here're six rumors about the iPad 3 that look pretty likely to us!
Retina Display
The Retina display, which gives us those ultra-crisp images on the iPhone 4 and 4S, has been out for quite some time, but surprisingly wasn't included in the iPad 2. All that seems to be headed for a change though, as hints within the iOS SDK points to a Retina display for the iPad 3, and will reportedly have a 2048x1536 resolution, which will definitely give us some killer graphics- gaming is about to get SWEET on the iPad!
Higher megapixel camera
It's no secret that pretty much every iteration of an iDevice has had a better camera than its predecessor- and there's no reason why the iPad 3 wouldn't support an 8 megapixel camera or higher. An upgrade for the front-facing camera is also in order- the iPad 2 didn't exactly impress there
A new iOS
It's around that time of the year for a new iOS to show it's shiny head, and ArsTechnica caught a hint that the iOS 6 is right around the corner- on their monthly browser stat report, 346 devices were registered as having the iOS 6. We think those came from Apple employees test-driving the new product before it's unveiled this 7th March
A new Processor
Apple's A5 dual-core processor was the hot stuff last year, but with market moving towards quad-core processors, you can bet that Apple has some sticky hands in that game as well. Rumors hint at a dual core A5x processor, and a possible quad-core A6 processor in the works, and it's sure one of those will end up in the iPad 3.
A new Form Factor
One particular point of pride over at the Infinite Loop is the sleek minimalist design of Apple's products, which we can safely say adds much of the lust factor of the iPhone and iPad. Word is that the iPad 3 will be ever so slightly thicker than the iPad 2 though, even though a move like that would contradict Apple's usual tradition of making the devices ever thinner. Expect a different design overall though.
(Maybe) Siri
People tend to forget that Apple's voice activated virtual assistant is still very much in beta, and we're hoping iOS 6 will bring with it an improved, fully fledged version of Siri. While no one knows for sure if Siri is even on the iPad 3, you have to admit that it'd be a great addition to the device
